Mountain Biking at Aliso Woods (Laguna Niguel/Beach) Dec 14th, 2002 There's a drop-in at Aliso Woods, called "Smoothie". Approx 15' high and nearly straight down. I've passed it up for a number of years, hoping to one day get the 'huevos' to try it. Sure enough that day came...and went...with a trip to the ER instead of victory lane. I subconsciously applied the brakes just as I began to drop in. It was too late to jump off the bike, so I reared back to keep from going head-first. As I began to fall, my leg became entangled in my bike and the bottom of my seat post sliced my leg open as I slid down the face. Miraculously, I felt very little pain and was able to ride out with one leg...I think they call that shock.
